Watched Pleasure Factory today. It was the worst movie i had ever watched!!!! For the whole 83 mins. There was not much of verbal communication between the characters. like only for less than 15 mins in total. the whole show have no contents at all. vague story line. i really dun understand what the director is trying to convey. Is geylang all about prostitue and sex?
firstly, the china woman who had sex with the old man cried. at the end of the show, she suddenly invited the street performer to her house. the street performer stripped and put on his clothes again. den they ended up kissing like lovebirds. were they couples? or do they knew each other and had a crush on each other? ~ scratch head~
next, which mother in this world would ask her daughter to join her serving a customer? and ended up seeing her daughter service that old sick man. worst thing, she did nothing at all!!!!!!only after the whole thing ended did she took the table lamp and knock that old sicko out. and would a mother ask her daughter to buy condom and deliver to her?
the only good point to mention for this film is the guy, luo zi han, who acted. he was the character who acted as a NS man looking for "fun" in geylang. he actually stripped for this show. overall he acted quite well. and for his courage, thumbs up!
mentioning about the gay scene. it was ridiculous. 2 young guys looking for "fun". 1 was shy and dared not try. but the other persuaded him to go. he went. but the other guy was upset...... the worst part is here. he stood in front of the vending machine and imagined himself having sex with his fren. and out of sudden the gay sex scene appeared. it was disgusting. that guy was gay. he likes his fren. and he had a fantasy. and still he asked his fren to go geylang. no link at all! i nearly left the theatre!
throughout the whole show. i can say we were mumbling among ourselves. davin wanted to throw eggs. poh wei, ken kiat and me nearly left. lynal nearly slept! as like what the critics said though its 83 mins but the whole show makes me feel its very draggy. Pleasure Factory does not fit the title of this movie. no meaning at all. dunno what its trying to convey. its really not the Geylang that i know. i feel that's not the way how the film should portray geylang to the audience. 2 stars rating??? i tink its only 1/2 a star. its a total flop! watched it coz sometimes 2 stars rating might not be as bad as wat critics say. but well... trust the critics this time. its bad!
