horrible brunei

i'm back from brunei... its HORRIBLE!!!!! 2 weeks of "confinement" in the long house! no outfield 4 me due to my knee injury. 2 weeks of at least 1 meal per day of MAGGI MEE!!! 2 weeks of mosquitoe bites. 2 weeks of bad weather (its either too hot or too cold). after all the horrible stuff..... comes the fucked up R&R. only water village is fine... sianx! will post picx soon.... only a few.... haiz... dun wanna talk bout this trip anymore!!!

wat a small world

met up wif grace this evening. went vivo n bugis village. great meeting up wif frenx. been 2 years since i last saw her. dinner at sushi tei was good. brought her around after dinner. saw many people on the way.

while entering sushi tei, i saw chionh. yaya... he gave me his sickening grin. i noe... gonna get teased real soon. Saw jasmine at vivo's IP Zone. been a long time since i saw her too. well... had a small chat wif her and knew something very disapoointing. been wondering y he changed so much. well... people do change. sad to say it was for the worse. at bugis village, grace asked if the lady in black was mardiana. and indeed it was her. once... again... long time no see! lolz. her bf is also from the same unit as me! just that we were from different company!

well.. i have to say, "WHAT A SMALL WORLD!!!" in just an evening, i saw so many people. and they are those whom i've seen them for ages. good to see them doing well too. gonna meet up wif more people the next 2 days! :)

ever since yesterday's medical review i dun feel good at all. confused. to be relieved that i can rest or be sad? " dun have to bother bout how ppl view me!", thats wat i keep telling myself. yet somehow i am unable to. sometimes i really wonder whether hard work will be recognised. it dun have to be a glamourous thing. just acknowledge the effort will do. i'll be contented. whatever it is as long as i know my conscious is clear that will do. at least thats an honest answer to myself. :)

well... still home is the best! dinner was fabulous at Botak Jones. love the fish n chips!!! ~yum~

holland village

today was my first time visiting holland village. its indeed a great place to chill out. many restaurants and shops. its like a little town. great experience there! love the bakery shops. they sell nice pastries but its a little too expensive. still its worth it!

always the same old thing

its always the same old thing!! always feeling the same when my short vacation is coming to an end. gonna go back to military life on monday! so reluctant!! well... at least i've enjoyed my short vacation to the fullest. did wad i wanted to do, cleared my room, met up wif frenx, spent time wif bro, aunt n uncle, and most importantly had sufficient rest these few days. military life is always tiring n taxing.

hmm... i'm really glad that aunt n uncle are always there 4 me and bro. without the two of u, things would not had been so easy for us. really cherish every single time spent wif both of u. sad to say she changed. disappointed. dun wan to comment further le..... haiz!

hmm... quite a shocking news i heard today from a good fren of mine. haha.. well.... not the right time to "announce" yet!!

lol!!!! funny sia.... where got people get charge for that... joker!! finally after working hard at ISPC we get to clear 2 days of off. however we are always lucky! tues n wed is our off day, thurs is public holiday, fri is official battalion off and then weekends are here again. so i'll be getting like 1 whole bloody week of off!!! hooray! never felt so shiok for such a long time! ~grinz~

its amazing on how the great s'pore sales attracts shoppers. the most amazing part is how prices can drop during this season. and how credit cards play a part in getting more discounts and savings for shoppers. its more amazing on how owners earn more money during this period of time despite slashing prices and paying workers more overtime pay. and i simply like this occasion every year.

well... the retail industry is still my cup of tea. its the type of job i want to pursue and what i am interested in.

family's warmth

love sunday! coz to me its family day. spending time wif my love ones is simply great. had great lunch n dinner together. had great time shopping together. seldom will i not spend time wif them on sundays. maybe coz i'm single as of now?? wonder how will i have to spend my weekends if i am attached??? must strike a balance!!!!

was at marina square today. yummy dessert at "Azabo Sobu" (dunno if i spelt it correctly!). and great dinner at one Hong Kong restaurant! but i 4got the name of it. lolz. worth patronising these 2 shops! bought a photo printer from Sony too. now i can just print my photos at home!! saving the hassle go going to photo print shops. :)

seldom will i ever have the chance of staying at home on sunday n booking in on monday. feeling great. gonna be at tekong again from tml till friday morning... well... its just another outfield.. sianz!!!!!

Taipei Photoz

ROC in Taiwan

just came back this morning from taiwan. training was tough especially climbing all the stupid mountain. the highest i scaled was 498m high above sea level. knee was hurting n legs were aching. was straining for my back due to the heavy load i was carrying. Exercise Longwalk was indeed tiring.. walking about 40km in 3 days was really madness. i'm glad tat its over. now, i've almost completed the scout course and most importantly i've gotten my jungle hat. monday wil be the presentation day.

really enjoyed the R&R in taipei. simply shiok shopping @ wu fen pu & xi men ding. mostly japan and korea products. the salesgirl are all so pretty!!! food at shi ling night market was really good especially the guan cai ban, ji pa, bubble tea and sausage! yum yum! its really easy to move around n navigate in taipei. the train service system was really like singapore. we went around using the mrt train which is called "metro". it was an enjoyable trip! I WANT TO GO TAIPEI AGAIN!!!!

felt really sorry n sad for the two singapore NS men who died in the plane crash in taiwan. hope tat their family are doing fine and well. my condolesence to them.

today is an official off day. tml will be back to camp to kill frog... yucks! its part n parcel of the course requirement. how i hope i can escape tat. HELP!!

feels good to be home. however, i'm down wif flu. nose is dropping. ouch!

Aimless

been through a few months as a recee trooper, i noticed that i have no aim. everyday is just going with the flow. though certain benefits and priviledges are given to us. i still feel that most of the time i have no life. things are just going round and round. repetitive. regimental most of the time.

i miss my freedom and carefree life. i have aspirations and dreams to pursue. but i am restricted this 2 years. counting down, 1 year 4 months more. hope that time will fly faster. in the short term, shall just look 4ward to every book out.

my knee still hurt at times. worried bout the EX Longwalk in Taiwan. 20 to 30km in full battle order plus my signal set. i need a cure, a solution for my knee. back hurts at time too.

hate tat "ninja turtle". act super garang in front of people. punish his men. leave them with no integrity just to show off his "garang" behaviour. "who ask u all to recover? crawl there in ur push up postion!" he screames at us in front of the other unit! yes we are late, punishment is necessary but its just too much. " who is tat who put his knee down? your back pain cannot do push up?" .. can.. when i injure myself again i shall hold you responsible. THANK YOU! one minute he is nasty, the next minute he tries to be nice. sorry but i'm unable to accept such behaviour. sight of him makes me sick. it is good to portray a good image of ourself when we represent our unit. however, overdoing things and trying to act garang when we are not just shows that we are "wayang". if you are good, people knows how to recognise your hard work.

life is just like tat, ever chapter of it will face different situations and meet people of all kinds. sometimes we just gonna accept, swallow and tolerate all the unhappiness.

gonna be leaving 4 taiwan on tuesday morning. 2 weeks plus of training. shall overcome this obstacle first. den enjoy the R&R in taipei. going xi men ding....!!! can't wait! :D

tiring satutrday

saturday has always been energetic 4 me... especially meeting up wif frenx and going out. today i am just damn sleepy n i just want to sleep.... ZZZZZZZZ

sImPLy ShAG oUT!!!!!

tues was 9km fast march, and ouch! my knee hurts.. fall out halfway. wed was CWO, cross river so many times! so smelly, dirty, cold n wet. slept late and woke up early the next day for field camp. Field camp was all about Land Infiltration Movement. walk in mud, prone down on stone path, carry the heavy signal set up knoll, running n moving around wif the heavy field packwas really exhausting and tiring! not enough sleep also. we move around even at 3am. friday was the continuation of the field camp. same old things. but more mosquitoe bites. itch itch!!!!!!! reached back PLC at around 2230hr. slept at 0200hr woke up at 0530hr for book out. now sitting in front of the laptop n i dun feel like sleeping at all!!!

well... more to come next week and in Taiwan the week after next. :)

revived laptop LCD screen

my laptop's LCD screen revived!!! collected my laptop today. just when i tot i need to pay a few hundred bucks, i was told tat my warranty expires 22nd april!! lucky no need pay coz they changed the whole LCD screen panel. if warranty expires, i would have to pay like 8oo++ !!!! ~phew~

well.... 7 months into NS n i'm still counting down.... :)

Enjoying Life at PLC

life at PLC is good. can wake up later. book out no stand by area, can sleep on bed anytime of the day, got nights off, got shuttle bus come in fetch us, can go canteen on our own, book out early as no dinner indented and best is friday book outs!!! other than the fast march and moving around in full battle order, i quite like PLC. somehow i dun feel like going back to unit. haha. this coming week gonna be tough wif 9km fast march n 12km fast march. looking 4ward to CWO too. time really flies in about 2 weeks i'll be in taiwan. :D

my poor laptop

my poor laptop's LCD backlight blew.... its now at HP service centre.... and its gonna costs me a few hundred bucks. :(

went vivo city, met jacky 4 lunch, bought 3 t shirts and a pair of shoes. broke. saw stefanie sun. she so skinny. went dinner after tat wif family. den to amk hub ntuc. now at home. stoning in front of the PC. hoping tat i will not have to restart my com again due to the virus.

my short holiday due to leave and public holidays is coming to an end. enjoyed every single bit of it. monday is the start of real tough training. only can say one word.. "sian!" ... lolz...

Good Friday Holiday... long weekend

a public holiday on a friday is always a good news to all NS men. tat means mostly we will book out on thurs night n we'll have a long weekend. i've put this long weekend to gd use. meeting up wif old frenx n enjoying some personal time. freedom. its been sometime since i felt so carefree. 7 months n still counting. NS is just a waste of time to me.

met up wif my BMT buddies 4 lunch n movie. watched "Sunshine"... all i can say is the extra person tat survived in the show brought the movie from climax all the way till zero. ridiculous ending and it does spoil the whole story plot. quite disappointed as i did enjoyed the first part of the movie.

ISPC started. monday will be the start of real tough training. i'm worried whether my knee can take it anot. i'll just do my best. not till the extend of being so garang like ... someone.. can't stand it! end of the month i'll be going ROC in taiwan. looking forward to the R&R only. who bothers with the training. just get it over and done with. 17 more months to go.........

feel so good to be at home. yes... cox of leave. shiok...... will only be baq 2ml nite n will book out on thurs nite. this week i'm busy! lots of gathering to attend n catch up wif old frenx. been sometime since i meet them. ISPC course is starting. hell lots of combat training starting soon. taiwan ROC trip is up next. cant wait 4 the R&R. :P

field camp.... not that bad after all

field camp aint that bad after all!! ;D quite fun actually, maybe it is just less shiong for recce troopers. and our good performance gained us a half day off today. n next tues n wed is our leave. n good friday is another public holiday. so next week will be in processing at SMI on monday for probably half day n thurs, the first day of our ISPC. the rest of the week are all book outs!!! hooray n party!!!

the strange feeling is back ever since last saturday. but the commitment n responsiblity pulls me back. haiz. :(

it was a gd day today coz i booked out on fri!!!! the feeling is just so shiok! met up wif ally, jun rong, ivan n yong lin this evening. the best part was, jun rong drove his lorry into the drain n we had to help him push it out. funny sia. haha!!!!!!!!!!! after getting the poor lorry out we went dinner at chinatown temporary market. chit chatted till 11 before we went home. glad to see n hear that most of our classmates are doing well now. yet sad n disappointed to hear about some people. hope to meet up wif them again.

well, i am on status again. excuse RMJ, heavy load, physical training n on light duties till 5th april. my poor back still hurts, dunno y the sprain take so long to heal. knee.... gone case le... haiz! yup ISPC is starting soon. n we r going back to tekong on monday again. OUTFIELD!!!! (makes me sick). haiz.......

hurt my back again!

run run run, was running down 700m smoothly before the SOC obstacles start. reaching the first obstacle, low wall, up i jump, jerking up n the next thing i felt was the familiar sharp pain on my lower back. yes. i hurt it again. was in great pain n had difficulty walking today. sianz. book out today n i must go thru this shitty pain. :(

knee is hurting

my knee hurts again after the circuit training n 4km run today. damn sianz! now walk also pain. this whole week gonna pass by very slowly 4 me. mon till wed we are going back to tekong 4 field camp. we got navigation exercise. arrghh!! simply HATE OUTFIELD!!! den thurs i need to go c MO 4 my medical review. please refer me to specialist coz it hurts!!! surely saturday got RT again before booking out. SUNDAY GOT GUARD DUTY!!!! goodbye to my weekend!!! haiz..... no choice la.
